How ElectroSea ClearLine works

ClearLine generates a precisely controlled, very low concentration of chlorine directly in the raw-water flow by electrolyzing seawater at a sealed cell. The chlorine concentration is well below levels that would harm cupronickel, bronze, or titanium components — but more than sufficient to prevent barnacles, mussels, and biofilm from establishing anywhere downstream. Treatment happens continuously while the system is in service, so growth never gets started.

Skid line and raw-water loop protection

We install ClearLine on a wide range of raw-water skid lines — including dedicated cooling skids, air conditioning seawater loops, refrigeration condensers, water maker feed lines, generator cooling, and engine raw-water circuits. A single ClearLine generator can be sized to protect multiple loops on the same vessel, with treatment cells placed where they deliver protection across the protected systems.

Sizing, installation, and commissioning

ClearLine sizing depends on raw-water flow, salinity, temperature, and the volume of the protected piping. We perform on-vessel surveys, size the ClearLine generator and cell layout appropriately, install the system in coordination with the vessel's electrical and plumbing layout, and commission the system with documented setpoints and verification.

Warranty service and long-term support

We provide ongoing service for installed ClearLine systems, including periodic inspection, cell condition monitoring, electrode replacement at end of service life, and warranty support coordinated directly with ElectroSea.

Why protect raw-water skid lines

Marine growth in a raw-water skid line costs far more than the cost of prevention. Fouled condensers reduce cooling capacity. Restricted strainers starve pumps. Biofilm in heat exchangers reduces efficiency and accelerates corrosion. Replacing a fouled heat exchanger or condenser is dramatically more expensive than installing ClearLine. For yachts that live in warm South Florida, Bahamas, or Caribbean water, the economic case for protection is overwhelming.
